Well, it's official....there's a baby in my belly!! I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant (give/take 3 days) and due on SEPTEMBER 9, 2008.
I had my first doctor's appointment today and I was really ready for a doctor to tell me i'm pregnant and not just an at-home pregnancy test. My appointment was at 1:15PM with Dr. Joel Hall. I worked until 11:30 and went to the hospital to have lunch with Benjamin before my appointment. At around 1:00 Ben and I walked across the skywalk to the doctor's office, signed in and waited about 5 minutes before the nurse called me back. The first thing she did was an ultrasound. She found a little blob of tissue with a heartbeat. She said the baby is about .5cm, about the size of a grain of rice. WOW, that's LITTLE!!! =) After she looked around with the machine for a few minutes, she went to the waiting room and called Ben back to see the ultrasound and the heartbeat. The heartbeat was the NEATEST thing!! It was so TINY!! It is such an amazing feeling knowing that there is living, human being in my belly (even though it's the size of a grain of rice).
The worst part of the visit was waiting to see the doctor. So, Ben & I went back to the waiting room for about another hour waiting to see the doctor. Around 2:45 the nurse came out and said that Dr. Hall was in surgery and we would be seeing the Nurse Practicioner, Melanie. She asked a few questions and we were finished. Very sweet & simple.
My next doctor's appointment is February 13th at 3:15PM. They scheduled another ultrasound, a pap and all the blood work. From now on I will go to the doctor once a month until July then will go every 2 weeks.
Wish "us" luck and keep praying!! =)

Happy New Year!
Today is the first day of 2008, a brand new year. This year will be full of changes in our lives. Ben and I will have been together for 7 years in April and married for 2 years in August. We will also welcome our first child at the end of August. Being the beginning of a brand new year there are some things in my life I would like to change or improve. Here are my new year resolutions:
1. Eat healthy: I know that this is important for my baby, but I want to continue to keep my body healthy by watching what I eat. I will try my best to increase my fruit, vegetable and dairy especially during the next 9 months.
2. Exercise: I joined a gym in October and believe it or not, I actually enjoy going to the gym. My goal is to continue going to the gym at least twice a week if not more. I want to keep my body in good condition. Plus I hear it's good to keep exercising to prepare your body for labor. =)
3. Be prepred: My goal is to be fully prepared mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually when our baby arrives. I want to read about parenthood and how I can be the best parent I can be in today's society. I also want to continue going to church and grow spiritually with my husband.
4. Be the best wife and mommy: I will continue to be a understanding and compasionate wife to Ben and prepare myself to be a understanding and compasionate mother to little "peanut".
So, these are the four thing that I will strive to accomplish in 2008. I will hold my family and friends accountable for helping me stick to my resolutions. =)
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2008 and please contunue praying for Ben and I along with our "little peanut".
